How I.C.S Workshops Fulfill Credential Requirements
Virginia Specific Credentials:
In order to become a CSAC, individuals must have a total of 220 hours of didactic education in specific domains specified by the Virginia Board of Counseling. The workshops provided by Innovative Counseling Solutions LLC, include content that would meet the required minimum 10 clock hours in the domains of:
1. Crisis Intervention
2. Continuum of care and case management skills
3. Signs and Symptoms of Substance abuse
4. Recovery Process and Relapse Prevention models
5. Professional Identity in the provision of substance abuse services ***
6. Ethics ***
7. Treatment Approaches, group dynamics and recovery support groups.
8. Treatment Planning and Treatment Approaches (provides 10 of the required 20 hours)
***This content area is combined with another domain area in one workshop for a total of 20 CEU
Note: I.C.S. workshops can only be applied to RENEW Licensed Professional Counselor credentialing in Virginia.
National/International Credentials:
In order to become a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or an Associate Addiction Counselor (AAC) individuals must obtain a minimum of 270 hours of didactic education in specific domains specified by the Virginia Certification Board. Workshops provided through I.C.S have been approved to fulfill some of the didactic hours in the areas of:
1. Screening, Assessment, and Engagement
2. Treatment Planning, Collaboration, and Referral
3. Counseling
4. Professional & Ethical Responsibilities
For professionals interested in the Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP), I.C.S workshops can be applied to fulfill some of the required 200 hours of education (e.g. 30 hours of addiction specific education with 6 hours of ethics) in the areas of:
1. Crisis Prevention & Management
2. Treatment & Recovery Planning
3. Counseling
4. Management & Coordination of Care
5. Professional Responsibility
